When it all began for Kate & Alex, they both would have said they weren’t looking for a relationship. But shortly after they met, they just knew.
She was only supposed to stay in Vancouver for a month or two. It ended up being a much longer stay than that.
Love snuck up on them.
When Kate & Alex came into our lives, they told us that they already felt like they were married, but it was time to make it official.
They returned to the place where they had their first getaway as a couple to exchange their vows: Galiano Island. An elopement turned into a micro-wedding with several family members present. And they gathered under the Arbutus tree at the Galiano Inn to hear Kate & Alex’s promises of forever.
It was a magical day. Kate & Alex’s wedding was incredibly full of meaning-full to the brim. It was personal vows, a ring blessing, love letters, wish lanterns, and returning to the park where they had camped together to take their portraits. It was Kate’s mum giving a personal message during the ceremony. It was laughter in the rain that stopped & started all day long-rain that Kate & Alex had secretly hoped for. It was impromptu toasts and impromptu dancing and mixes of British/Canadian/Australian humour. It was “twoo-wuv” and “I fell in love with you because I couldn’t not fall in love with you.”
It was lovely and we’ll never forget it. Thank you, Kate & Alex for having us along to document such a beautiful day for you.
