Jaclyn & Chris >> Okanagan Lakeside Wedding
The day was peaches & cream, gales of wind & local wine. It was bouquets made by hand and vows written from the heart.
It was Jaclyn & Chris.
Chris goes on long bicycling trips. Nothing but him, the road ahead for miles, and the peace that comes from pedaling to and through beautiful places. Jaclyn cares about people and the earth. During the whole wedding planning process she did yoga and went for regular walks in the outdoors to stay sane. She eats vegan, she buys local when she can, and she cares about being eco friendly.
Chris adores Jaclyn. You can see it in the way he looks at her and in the way he looked at her as she walked town the aisle towards him.
Jaclyn adores Chris. You can tell by the way she lights up when shes with him. By the way he makes her smile and the ability he has to put her at ease.
Jaclyn & Chris planned an incredible outdoor soiree that fit them perfectly. It was romantic, relaxed & heartfelt. It was personal and meaningful.
Two high school sweethearts with ups and downs and over a decade together and then, they got married. Their joy was overflowing.
The wind was blowing that day. As they exchanged their vows, the wind threatened to blow away the entire ceremony, but it didn’t. I saw the wind as a broader metaphor for marriage–how it’s not always quiet and easy and how your hair doesn’t always perfectly stay in place. Sometimes, it can feel like you’re about to be blown off course. But we think Jaclyn & Chris will be able to handle it just fine–the storms, the wind & all the good times too–because together, they’ve already been through a lot and grown through it all. We can tell they’re strong together.
Here’s their story.
