They were match-makered. It was a set-up. Hmm. I don’t know how to say that any better, but Jenna & Travis would have never met if it wasn’t for two other people who were in love: Clara & Caleb. Clara, Caleb & Jenna were good friends. Caleb went to Edmonton for school. Clara followed her love and Jenna followed her friend and Caleb had a friend/roommate (am I getting this all right, guys?). Well, obviously that guy was Travis and I guess Clara & Caleb got to scheming and got Jenna & Travis introduced.

After that, Travis made Jenna dinner. Steak. She thought that perhaps, steak dinners weren’t something every college-aged bachelor cooked for themselves & she might be something special to him. We’ve all heard the phrase “A way to a man’s heart is his stomach,” and perhaps, Travis was thinking that he could apply this principle to Jenna with success, because after cooking her a steak dinner, the next date was Sushi. I’m sure they enjoyed a lot more food together in the months to come because one evening, Travis proposed to Jenna and she accepted. Okay, in all seriousness… I am sure Jenna & Travis enjoy food and meals together, but they like a lot of other wonderful things: Frank Sinatra, coffee dates, outdoor adventures, Modern Family (haha-love that show-so many good one-liners) & more. They are such lovely people-funny, easy going, kind, thoughtful, adventurous, splendifirous…

In tribute to their relaxed personalities and Travis’ love of fishing (or, as he told us “Sitting by water” because he never seems to catch any fish) we planned an engagement shoot at the lakeside. They fished, they danced to Frank Sinatra, and they dodged a ton of geese with us to get these awesome shots!
