“Our first dance was one of the most special moments of the wedding day. As soon as we settled into each other’s arms and tears of love started to flow, it hit us that we were married. And as we danced outside under the stars, there was an overwhelming sense of calm… it was magical.” -Emily
In the midst of one of the busiest summers of our career, Emily & Jesse’s day felt slow. Slow in all the good ways. A driving down gravel roads through the mountains kind of slow. A relaxed, sunny morning kind of slow. A lingering, al fresco dinner kind of slow. And, it was magical, just as Emily herself felt it, we felt it too. Their intimate wedding tucked away in the mountains just outside of Squamish was really, the ideal day. Surrounded by such a vibrant and loving community of family and friends, Emily and Jesse held hands and exchanged vows and then they partied with their closest friends and family until the stars came out. Emily & Jesse were such a fun couple to work with–they were so open and welcoming and sat us at a table during the reception with family. True gems. We will never forget all the heartfelt speeches, dining in the open summer air, the way their parents looked so incredibly proud, how Emily’s eyes crinkled at the corners when she giggled and how Jesse held his bride in his arms, in complete contentment.
One for the books. Enjoy.
Just a short drive from Vancouver, Squamish is such a fantastic spot for a wedding. Emily & Jesse’s day took place at the Eagle Valley Retreat in Brackendale and a lot of DIY love happened to make the whole setup possible. Other Squamish (and area) wedding venues we love include the Sea to Sky Gondola, Sunwolf, Brew Creek Lodge, Cheakamus Centre and Drumkeeran House.
