It was hot and sunny out and dappled light was streaming through the trees that surrounded their ceremony, kissing their shoulders as they grinned at each other and exchanged vows. Guests sat on hay bales covered by heirloom quilts and wore sunhats. An army of flowergirls from Grace’s Brownie troop watched on, picking through the remaining petals that lay in their baskets. Their wedding party stood beside them, under pear trees, holding wild & whimsical bouquets, laughing at the inside jokes they understood, and wiping away the occasional tear.

15 minutes earlier…

I’m not good at any of this. I just want to get married! Grace’s own words. She was done with the crafting, done with the planning, done with the hair & makeup fussing. Ready to be a wife. Ready to start an adventure with a man she was so incredibly in love with. She was ready to walk down that aisle to Joel. And he was there, smiling and waiting for her.

It was such an honour to photograph Grace & Joel’s whimsical and emotive day.
