For John & Shauntel’s Connection Shoot, we drove from Victoria to one of the prime spots on Vancouver Island: Mystic Beach. The hike down to Mystic Beach winds through beautiful forest and across a small suspension bridge. You descend from a staircase carved out of a fallen tree and there it is: one of the most spectacular views in the Pacific Northwest. Waves crashing on the walks, very few people, and a waterfall that cascades from the cliffs down into the surf (or onto the beach, depending how high the tide is).

Our adventure with Shaunie & John to celebrate their engagement and get them comfortable in front our cameras before their wedding was so wonderful. We loved hanging out and talking with them, finding great patches of light in the forest, catching a sunset together, and hiking back in the dark. Afterwards, we had tacos (around 11pm) and mescal cocktails. We have the best job.
